flabrea, You can go through 99Designs to pre-pay the $500 so the the winner is guaranteed to get the money. They will hold it in escrow. YOu will get many more entries if it is flagged as "guaranteed."

Guys! Most of the submitted designs are so unbelievably BAD i would not use them for kindergarten radio station!!! Never seen a professional logo for a professional radio station? At least you should know what they look like! If you aren't able to design a good artwork please do not spend your time trying... Please please please check the internet for some good radio station logos!!!! Thank you...

Just an advice to Contest Holder....if you make this contest guaranteed (and you can do that by contact 99designs by email and tell them that you want to make your contest guaranteed.) lot of good and professional designers will come.They come mostly when it is lot of money but only when contest is guaranteed they 100% come.

I haven't been around here on 99designs for long... but I would recommend any designer who want to give it a try, read first all CH comments on the designer pages...which is nothing but insults...
Flabrea, insulting designers won't do any good.
Instead you could better give constructive advice such as: WHICH logo's do you find yourself professional, and give 5 link examples. There are billions out there, from simple to complicated. There is no way a designer could guess which one you prefer.
Besides rewarding 500$ without any guarantee, won't atract any profesional designer.
The way you behave won't get you anywhere, and surely you can count me out. -

i am honest with every artwork that is submitted. when i think its bad i tell the designer that its bad. but guys, please - the word "designer" not the right word for some of those submitting a logo, sorry...

Hi, thanks for taking time to look through and rate the designs! It would be great if you could just state in a few short sentences what you like about the ones still in the race and what you would prefer to have changed. It would also be brilliant if you could give some more detailed information about what you had in mind, e.g. colour schemes and the like … that would make it a lot easier for you to get the perfect logo, since even though we are trying very hard, most of us aren’t very good at reading minds.

I see no feedback to any designers as to what direction the CH wishes to go. How is ANY designer, be it here on 99 designer or at a brick and morter location, supposed to know what is required without the client providing direction or a list of likes and dislikes... other than "be emotional"... lol -what a joke-
And there is a way to explain you dislike of a logo without offending regardless of how much money is being offered! This CH is borderline abusive.... -

I agree, I’m afraid I can’t submit any further concepts before I’ve got a clue as to what the contest holder likes and wants changed about my design, so please take a few moments and write some constructive, encouraging feedback to the ones you like; wasting my time walking around in the dark and blindly hoping to strike gold isn’t exactly productive. Also, the fact that the best rating so far is two stars makes me think twice about whether I want to go on with this — even though some of the designs aren’t the cream of the crop, there are also quite a few really good ones that deserve more stars, including several of the eliminated and withdrawn ones. Offending people who took the time to look at your contest and create a concept logo just for you, however good or bad it may be, isn’t a good practice.

thank you graphicsphilip / sorry - but most of the logos arent worth one word of feedback! unfortunately the worst designs are all withdrawn. THE ONLY DIRECTION i can give you is A GOOD DESIGN that is worth showing it to my customer! No color schemes, no likes or dislikes, no font wishes > a good design matching the concept of the radio station described in the briefing.

First of all, you play crappy music, how can you expect us to give you the "coolest" logo when inspiration is Bananarama... second - with that kind of attitude, like you're a BBC radio owner, you won't get anywhere... If you're such proficient of visual communications than you should check some of the leading radio stations on the internet, there's nothin' cool about these logos, they're just easily remarkable and readable, simple and mostly corporate...
My advice is > save your 500$, open Illustrator yourself, type the name of your radio station, choose Arial font > right click > Create Outlines > Save as... AND THERE IT IS! -

Hey, I'm still working on version 2 (one entry so far from me). I'm pulling my hair off, scratching my balls, sweating my ass off and I still can't figure out what this new version is going to look like. Everything I try sux. Very low ratings here from CH but this is the magic of contest :) I like it, no matter 500 lousy bux. Wow...what's up with the page-rage in here!? For those of you who are professionals, then it won't even phase you. What TRULY bites is getting 5 stars and not even winning...now THAT sucks! For those of you still not up to par, then take it in stride and keep working at your craft. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, or in this case, a better designer.
I find it fascinating that rudelusional signed up to 99Designs just to comment on the CH because he thought that he was "a prick"...uhm, okaaay? How about when he said: "DESIGNERS!!! FIGHT FOR YOURSELVES, YOU SHOULD BE MAKING MORE MONEY IF YOU'RE ACTUALLY THAT GOOD. GET A LIFE AND GET OFF THIS DUMB ASS WEBSITE"...as if *snarf*! Take a chill-pill buddy(cue in cuckoo-clock sound effects).

This will be a waste of time to enter and you don't see the insults that rudelusional has made...lol Evene if you decide to pay $5,000 to someone company you wont find what u want.. emotional? not too technical like many submitted design in here. / 80s or 90s / you could design a logo focused on the 80s, one on the 90s and one 50/50

Hopefully i am wrong, but i can't wait to see the results of this contest and then...then is like i am seeing this, a long time of waiting, and then NOTHING. But again, hopefully i am wrong. Besides, why don't you release the date? I mean, a date is a date, not a name or anything that could reveal the identity. Hmmmm...designers, just take care. -
